Yeah - like a year and half ago, so I got a fair amount of use from my system.
The Arcade is much quieter and cooler running than my old 360, and it has the HDMI port. I just popped on my old hard drive, plugged in the headset, and BAM - I was back online. I also got a new controller with it (which I needed) and a new 3 year warranty, so I am pretty happy.
I might try to fix my old xbox to use as a spare bedroom unit for those late night gaming sessions when the GF wants to go to sleep and I want to game it up.
Yeah, but that's the first time it's ever happened (I'd know, I've had a PS3 since it came out. :P)
It's a fair trade-off to a system that breaks every few months. I guess I made a smart decision in waiting for the PS3, but I definately would've got a 360 too, if they hadn't been so problematic. I really feel for you guys, Microsoft should be giving you much more than a new system every time they break. They should throw in some $200 gift cards for all the data you lost or something.
