I love Sony products man. I've been a loyal customer for YEARS. I would not consider myself a fanboy but the fact that my desktop, laptop, camcorder, 2 digital cameras and televisions have all been Sony probably tells another story.

I will say that my newest TV is a Samsung. The picture was simply better than the comparable Sony that cost $600 more. :)

I'm 99% sure that the PS2 wasn't online ready at launch. I bought one just a few months after it was released and don't remember the option of any online features. I think it was the slim model that came later that allowed for online functionality.

Yes, Microsoft did a great job bringing online gaming to the forefront, but that was always their thing. They are a computer company. They deal with online features all the time. They were ahead in that department to begin with. Sony has done just as much, if not more in other areas. Microsoft only came into the game console world because they felt threatened by Sony and felt that the Playstation was going to take over PC's.

In the end though, it doesn't really matter since both companies have had their share of ups and downs. To me though, Sony is the company that keeps raising the bar technologically and at the same time, delivers a product that not only kicks butt, but is built to last. It's not just about the RROD with the Xbox. Microsoft has routinely made products that either crash or have glitches and their monopoly over their industry has turned me off of their products.

Edit: I guess there was a network adapter that you could buy for the PS2 before the slim model.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ps2 So basically, Microsoft got the idea and took it to the next level.

Ok, so I got my HDMI cable yesterday and hooked up my PS3. I will say that Heavenly Sword is a pretty sweet looking game. Who doesn't like a half naked chick with a big sword and a bad attitude?

Maybe it installed the PS3 update. I've heard from someone who put in a game on a new PS3 and an update came with it and installed itself.

I just got my PS3 last week from christmas gift cards and customer "tips". Only payed $150 out of pocket for the system, remote, 2 games, 2 blu rays and an HDMI cable along with a 2 year extended warranty.

Oh and for those of you waiting for your Xbox 360, it'll come UPS 3 day select with signature required, so for my sake(the UPS man) please be home to sign for it or your not getting it harhar1:harhar1:

Not the best place to put this, but is anyone else having Xbox Live issues? Apparently all over people aren't able to log into their dashboards.

I wasn't able to login yesterday. I haven't tried today though. The annoying part is that it told me that I wasnt' connected but it would tell me which friends were online. Made me think it was a console setting or something but I guess not.

I don't remember if it was available at launch, but you could buy a network adapter for the fat model of the ps2. It plugged into the hard drive port...

Nope. The box says right on it that you need 2100MB of space minimum to play. Also, I had already downloaded the latest update. That was the first thing I did when I turned on the system.

The more I play games on it and watch blu-rays the happier I am to have made the purchase. I can't wait to setup my PSN account and start playing you dudes.
