For a PS3 or 360 you still have to buy an HDTV if you want to get the most out of it, and that is at the minimum going to cost you 400 to 500 dollars (way more if you want to go the 50" widescreen route).

Sure, but the HDTV is good for a heck of a lot more than just paying console games, and at this point, if you don't already have an HDTV, you're retarded...
