The SP is so amazing that my friends who only play MP games are actually playing SP for the first time in their gaming careers.

RDR has changed all that!
RR, when you go for MP feel free to hit me up, we can hit some gang hideouts and go hunting in a private game to get you levelled up.
Here's MP in a nutshell:

Sorry Dex for killing you at $4900 in bounty, I didn't realize you were that close to hitting the goal.

Dexter, thank you for the FR, hope that was you.
For those people who are doing MP free-roam, a good place to start is Blackwater, get a bounty going and you will get some good weapons. Then transport to Escalera (go to gang hideout nearby on map), there is a sniper rifle waiting for you in a house.
From there your weapons will stay with you, even after death, until you log out. This should give you a nice mix of weapons for your playsession.

I got the treasure map off some dude and found a couple of treasures. Also rented a room in each town for flopping and travelling.

As far as what I did, hopped onto my "Outlaw" Marston:
The safes in Armadillo are crackable! You have to clear the lawmen
from the town, then your wanted box in the top right will vanish.
Then I went to the TWO safes in the back room of the bank, and I hit "Y" for crack safe, and got the safecracking prompt!
I didn't think we could pop those until Mexico!
I also hopped on the train at Armadillo, crouched
down behind the driver, and watched him shovel coal until the train
went up around the northern bend and into the tunnel. Once the train
was in the tunnel a shot rang out, the driver fell, and into the
passenger car I went. No fame or honor loss because no witnesses. I
left that train in the tunnel and came away a bit wealthier.

I'm going through the first time as a good guy. I'll go crazy the second time through.
Has anyone banged a hooker yet? I just know you'll get VD if you do.
I got the most expensive horse and it seems like all the other ones. It keeps getting killed by cougars so I have to revert to a saved game to revive his ass.
I'm mostly hunting down wanted guys for the rewards. Also picking flowers and shooting animals for challenges.
The "Flowers for my Lady" quest is pretty funny once you get to meet the lady..

Love this game
Especially the deadeye upgrade once you get into Mexico. Plus any mission that allows me to re-enact the end of the Wild Bunch makes the game a keeper.
Dumbest thing done--accidentally shot my horse with the sawed off while hurrying to kill a baddie. Head sploded
If you're feeling really bad, hogtie a lady and drop her on the train tracks. Wait...

Rinkrat, you don't have to revert to a saved game everytime that horse dies. You just go to your items list and click on the parchment for the horse and then call for it.
