This starts off with a classic. The old I-don't-care-what-you-think flameout. Whenever I encounter one of these, I know I am in for a treat.
This is a great four-hit combo, with the final uppercut being compared with the futility of a baby! When arguing on the internet, the most important point isn't around the subject you're discussing, but rather the stupidity of the people you're disagreeing with. Cyle immediately claims people who irk him are basically mongoloids when it comes to hockey.
After the uppercut, Cyle tries another three hit combo, but it's such a mixture of insults/putdowns/condescension that the hits pack no punch. I like the idea that people disagreeing with you are technophile poor introverts who have never been to the Forum, Pond, or Big Bear. Cylce does circle back to wrap up his thought though, he's better than us.
This is a smart move, start suckering people in with the claim that there are people you like, we're not all idiots. According to the requirements Cyle lists above, even I might make the cut, but I'm not going to bite because I know another insult is coming.
I knew it! First things first, I have to appreciate how Cyle establishes credibility by claiming to have been here since the start. I remember back when LGK was good too, I don't remember the exact dates, but I'm sure it was in the past, or it could possibly be in the future... In anycase, the huge drop-off comment is perfect, it applies credit to every new person for flunking us out on Cyle's report card. It makes every oldtimer still contributing wonder if they're a part of the problem or a part of the good times. Then to finish up the back handed compliment with an appeal to emotion, asserting how pathetic things have become, is darn near flawless.
This is strange, I can barely get my head around it. I think the dichotomy is that the leadership is actively directing LGK towards failure, or it's too incompetent/impotent to stop the momentum and LGK will fail regardless of their actions. Either way, it is their fault, but Cyle tricks them into thinking they have a pass with the timeless lie, it's not you, it's me.
Uh oh, the flameout is fizzling...but Cyle's smart and he reiterates the point: he doesn't care/we're not worth it.
I love the ominous thank you. Is it a sarcastic thank you to the people who ruined the site? Is it a heartfelt thank you to the anonymous posters who Cyle actually admires and appreciates? Is it both? In all cases it works! The Rich Hammond thing, I don't get. Maybe Cyle forgot to delete it when he was proof-reading his post?
I'd rate this a 7/10 flameout. The execution was there, but it really lacked some vitirol to make it more enjoyable. Just like a hockey game, it's generally funner with a fight. If this were me, I would have included some anonymous slander to add that mising vitirol, something like: "I've seen you all standing like idiots at the game...you're all fat and your wives are ugly."

The purpose is not for you obviously, it is only for me. That is how I feel, and if its not in your range, you probably haven't seen the good days, and the change for the worse. 90% of the threads are just totally worthless, waste of time, attacks on people or debating with some really suspicious facts drawn from out of context.
Its like the rise of Rome and the fall... and used to check this site many times per day, but now only when I feel really bored, or have written some stupid **** myself. Only to see that the responses usually are ever more stupid.
So take it how like, really, I don't care.

On a serious note though, Kylie started several other threads prior to this one and ended everyone of of his op's with flame away. Then he starts this talking about flaming and again asks the community to flame away. if you didn't want to get flamed you shouldn't have asked for it.

Rangers announcers talking about scoring, mention of Kings scoring...
after some discussion, the other guys goes:"oh boy, but look at the Kings, they can't score more than one goal, like last night". Well then play by play I think he was said:"and they knew at the start of the season".
Say what, at least I didn't, Am I missing something or did everyone else know that we would suffer to even get two a game???
Anyways, don't know the names of either but...
Sorry, this first one took you until the 4th post to mention flaming.

The point is that I could care less if I'm flamed by some posters posing to know something and then showing ignorance, lack of wisdom, even stupity, but most importantly infantile lack of hockey knowledge, they probably don't even know how to get from the valley to see the ice for the first time on the OUTSIDE of Staples, or carpooling might also be too expensive, and without GPS, not worth it anyway.
So really don't care, luckily there are also people who's post I enjoy and respect. And people who have followed the Kings for a long time or even played the game, I have been here since the start, but had to jump start my account for what its worth, and really seen this site take a huge drop off, which is sad. And that is not the administrators or moderators or founders fault, it is just this place is somehow moving towards.
I used to get, since move to Finland, the insights and real valid information from here in, that is just not case anymore.
Thank you all, who know to deserve it. And thank you Rich Hammond.
