Default Advice needed please on cleaning jerseys with sigs

    Hi all,
I just got back from LAStore to have my patch put on our jerseys. We are having our pics taken with the Cup on Wednesday and wanted those on before we went. Well, its nice an new and my jersey looks so dirty! ITs not, I spot wash it and stuff like that because I have all the King's signatures on the back. I can't throw it in the laundry. Not sure about dry cleaning? They say the pens they use for sigs are indelible, but wow, I'd hate for anything to happen and mess that up.

But I want it to look nice for the picture. Any advice out there for a better cleaning than just a wet rag and wiping around the names??? Thanks!

Tracy, I had been doing spot washes for the longest time, but the sleeves on one of my away "white" jeresys just got too dark for my liking... So I took the risk and tossed it in the machine (inside out, cold... super teeny bit of soap).

Was happy to find out the autograph stayed Of course, washing anything too much will eventually come off. So if it's just this once, you should be okay.

    Do. Not. Attempt. Ever.
Washing a jersey is like kicking a puppy- a horrible idea that will only leave u feeling like an ******* and possibly in handcuffs...

Do not dry clean! I have an Authentic purple 3rd jersey from 10 years ago with the shoelace ties on the neck - no name or number on the back - just the authentic jersey. I spilled a little salad dressing on it and couldn't find the tag inside the jersey to tell me about cleaning it. So I took it to the dry cleaner. The heat and chemicals they used completely SINGED the main logo patch on the front of the jersey. Instead of a silver crown, it's now a champagne pinkish color.

Of course, after I found the damage, I was able to find the tag on the inside that said do NOT dry clean. <face palm>

I call it my "lucky" jersey now, and still wear it to games. But I will NEVER take a jersey to a dry cleaner's again!

Buncha wussies! Soak it in warm water and a dash of Woolite for a hour -two hours, no more. Rub the hard stains with a Woolite or Tide stain stick and rinse with cold water and air dry. If the sigs are with a sharpie, no worries. If something else...you're on your own.
