You do understand that if political discourse is taking place in the gutter, there is someone with views opposite his that is lying in that same gutter. There are many self-aggrandizing, crypto-socialists out there who are just as nasty and evil. But people tend to overlook things like that about people who hate the same people that they do. I have no tolerance for people on either side of the aisle who justify hating someone because they hated someone else. It makes you no better than them, in fact it makes you exactly what you claim to hate.

Just for reference, I believe Orson Bean is his father-in-law. Excellent character actor. Appeared in at least one episode of Twilight Zone.

Ok, well, apparently I cannot karma all of the posts, because there's some limit as to how many times you can give karma to a specific user, without 'spreading it aound' and apparently there aren't enough posters on this thread to do that.

And what's really funny in this thread is those who condemn others for talking ill of the dead. He was well known for doing just that. It's OK that he did it because he's dead now?

I didn't know him, and neither did any of you (I think that's fair to assume). We can only judge him by his actions. Many of them were deplorable, and I don't see any redeeming qualities... He used his popularity and influence to hurt others and further his cause. Not, to me, the sign of a good man.

Maybe it's just me, but I think it's just as ridiculous to speak well of bad people because they're dead, than it is to speak ill of people because they're dead.



All that being said, whether or not you think he's a decent person will be highly positively correlated with your political beliefs.

if that is the case, where is the hate for Michael Moore?
