Default Any Naples Xmas Boat Parade Viewing Tips?

So the wifey wants to take Jr to see the Naples Xmas Boat parade tomorrow night. I have never been there before and any parking/viewing tips would be appreciated. From the map of the parade it seems as if the easiest access would be the restaurants in the Seaport Village area, Joe's Crab Shack, Crab Pot or McKennas. I have read that parking on the island is non existent and walking the streets will be packed as well.

I'll do some recon in the afternoon while they are at a party so any tips would be great.

    Thanks

I hope you guys got to go amid the chaos presented by the oversized crowds and extreme lack of parking.

Well I was told by a waitress at McKenna's the parade starts at 6:00 so get there no later than 5:00 or else forget parking in their lot. So we get there at 5:00 parking lot is empty. Ok....we go walking along the docks and then sit down and wait. It's 5:30 now and the kid wants to go home and we the wife comments about someone sparking up some weed nearby. 6:00 nothing, 6:15 nothing, 6:30 nothing but now a skunk has sprayed nearby, 6:45 nothing. By now we have been there for almost 2 hours and now Im freezing and the kid has said for the millionth time let go home. 7:00 finally one boat floats on by and that's it. 7:15 maybe about 5 more come by and the first one makes a repeat appearance.

Maybe it's different on the island or maybe you just need to get stoned or drunk to pass the time but this was the first and last parade for us.......

That is a bummer SloMo. I live in LB and we have friends who live in Naples so I usually park my truck down there in the middle of the day, then ride my bike back home. Then to get back down there we take the PassPort (little red bus). We didnt go this year though.

I remember last year it was VERY late to get going, we were waiting around forever. We were in Naples along one of the canals, it was pretty packed but a fun atmosphere. If you do get the itch to try it again next year, maybe show up in the mid afternoon if you can and make a day/evening out of it. Walking along the sidewalks along the canals is pretty cool, tons of lights and really nice displays and decorations!

maybe there was a schedule and you showed up on the wrong night?

I agree on just walking all around the canal. it seems like the Griswalds bought up the whole place.
