Default Anyone try the 110 FasTrack Expresslanes?

Today was "opening day" of the 110 FasTrak toll lanes ("Lexus Lanes"). Does anyone know for sure whether these are toll going North AND South? The link seems to imply Southbound only, but I've seen other stories where it says it will be toll both ways.

Bummed because I always use these lanes going North to STAPLES from OC. While the lanes will be "free" for my carpool, we still (evidently) have to pop for the transponder, which is an expense I could do without.

Not from OC when I get off work at 6.

Though out of curiosity, RR, when do you have to leave your house for a 7:30 faceoff?

Anyway, the way things are going I may not need to find out the answer until next year.

Car pool is still free but you need the pass now. As far as I understand when you sign up to get the pass you need to have $40 in your account for when using the pass as a single rider so it will be able to take your money. Kinda bogus is you use the carpool all the time. Plus there will be a $3 monthly maintenance fee once the 10 goes in to operation later next year.

I will some more research to see if I'm misinformed.

This looks to me that the carpool lanes are underused.

They're trying to alter your transportation choice through user fees.

"Metro ExpressLanes is a pilot, one-year demonstration program overseen by Metro, Caltrans and several other mobility partners that have joined forces to develop a package of solutions to improve traffic flow and provide enhanced travel options on the I-10 and I-110 Freeways in Los Angeles County."

    Metro ExpressLanes

I predict that after the one year test, it will be declared a success regardless of whether or not it effectively improves the flow of traffic on either freeway.......because it will effectively improve the flow of revenue.

From OC, sometimes we'll take the 110 car pool lanes (from 105 & 605) and they are not underused. They "flow" decently until you get to downtown, then you sit through 3 - 4 lights to exit the fwy at Adams. IF the 110 carpool lanes got closer to Staples, I would think the new toll lanes aren't that big a deal.

Other times I'll take the blue line from Artesta station - but it can be a bit unnerving walking to my car at 11:00 pm in "not the best part of town". If more Kings fans used Artesia, it would be a bit more comfortable to say the least.
