Regards carrots (and beets that I am also presently growing) THINNING out is the key. I have them both in pots (giving it a try) and in the ground and the stems are growing nicely but they both need lots of space to spread out. Wishing you (and me) good luck!

How to kill wasps with water and soap
This actually works. They drop dead. Tried it today after finding two wasps nests.

Does anyone have experience with fruit trees becoming infested with termites? I just lost a nectarine, a plum and a peach to these pests.

Wow. Just went out back to water my tomatoes in a can and Holy Crap is my Early Girl Bush still going ape schit. Even after the t- storms a few weeks ago, she is still bumping out fruits. There are probably 60 tomatoes on a bush no taller than 4 feet. This is the same bush that had 4 softball sized fruits on it 2 weeks ago. This plant is a winner. If you can find an Early Girl "Bush" Determinate Hybrid, GET IT!
Its most definitely going on my annual list of veggies to grow. Too bad its going to crap out in the next month or so.

I've got more tomatoes than I know what to do with. 20 a day are ripe and my Black Cherry tomatoes are bumping out 30 a day for the last 3 weeks. I'm getting tomato overload. Bleh...
