    Default Car buffs...

Any car nuts out there? (No, not the danglers hanging off the raised F150 in front of you...)

I have been crazy about cars as far back as I can remember, how about you? Seen anything cool or unique on the street lately? What's your favorite local race track? What's your dream car? Do you like long, romantic walks on the beach?

I recently stumbled across a car meet-up as I was getting a cup of coffee. (Beverly Glen Circle) Saw some absolutely amazing rides. My photos stink, but there were some absolute beauties, if you are into Euro cars. They meet the second Sunday of every month, if you are interested.

Some very nice pics, not a car buff but my Dad used to have a body shop and I grew up doing body work on some exotics and race cars. Used to love going to Ascot every weekend as well as Long beach grand prix before they got rid of the infield motorhomes. Good times there, most of my family has been banned from the Hyatt down there (we weren't staying there, just visiting). Haven't had any reason to go to Fontana yet but I did make it out to Bakersfield for some good guys events while my pops was still kicking. They were good weekends but I viewed it more as family time than car time. I'll try and dig up some old pics if I can and get them posted.

My dream car is a '59 Corvette, silver or ice blue with white scoops. I would be very happy if some benefactor would buy it for me. I really think I deserve it.

That's very nice, buy if anyone is out there giving away classic Vetts just for the asking, I'd like one of these, please. Doesn't even have to be a split rear window, I'm not greedy:

I like off road stuff and pick-up trucks of all kinds. I've always told my friends who are into fast cars, "I don't care how fast your car is, when you park I'm going to drive over it".

Vehicles I've owned and modified for performance:

85 S10 Blazer w/6 inch lift, 35in tires, locking hubs, intake, exhaust, rhino lined interior, racing seats, roll cage, much, much more. This thing was a freaking beast of a 6cyl. I had this when I was 17, and man o man, did I ever tear **** up with this rig. Stuck at a left turn red arrow with no oncoming traffic and a median divider? Parking blocks, curbs, sand dunes, mud, river beds, boulders? No problem, I'd just drive right over EVERYTHING.

2001 Ranger 4.0L XLT w/a complete 3" Camburg pre-runner set up on 30's. This was a fun truck. My daily work driver, so I never really abused it too much. Fun times in Twentynine Palms at Coyote Lake (dry lake bed).

My favorite vehicle I've owned was a 1969 Ford F100. What a beautiful truck. Got into a pretty bad accident when a 97 Jetta ran a red light and I t-boned straight through the engine compartment. Bummer, I almost had it fully restored to OEM. Bent up the frame and had to total it. I REALLY want another classic F100. 1968-1972. No special suspension or tires. Stock. Ford made the perfect trucks those years. Le sigh.

I currently own a 96 Jeep Cherokee Country that I hope to turn into a crawling toy some day soon.

I've always liked diesel pick ups, but never had anything to tow or haul, so I never saw the point. But it's pretty amazing with what can be done performance wise with diesels these days.

I've got an old VW Bug(1967) that my dad and I did some work on, along with my daily driver Focus. I photograph cars occasionally and work for an auto parts store, so I pretty much live around them haha

My Bug has a 1776cc engine, full Pioneer stereo system(now being converted to Kicker speaker and Alpine h/u) and a whole bunch of other fun stuff. It's a fairly quick car for only making 100 horses haha

My daily is an 03 Focus, I've got some Koni Adjustable shocks, Ford Racin springs and SVT sway bars, along with an intake and some other goodies and european parts.

I love all kinds of cars though, I have friends with every kind of car from a 70's J10 pickup to the new Genesis R-spec and even a friend who has a sweet rally car. Im still learning about automotive repair and all that, but know a decent amount about both old and new cars.
