Ghost Stories & other scary stuff.
I know, a month too late, but I was thinking about a ghost story today & I thought I'd share it. I've had a couple experiences with ghosts, as a matter a fact I feel that a deceased relative of mine visits me quite often. This, I know to be true.
It was about 10 or more years ago. I was house sitting for a relative of mine. At the time, she had a very old and large St. Bernard. An incredibly beautiful & strong dog. It was very protective of spaces and areas in the house. When we arrived there it was about midnight and he blocked us at every door entrance & would low growl in disapproval, since, we were entering his territory. There were two other dogs in the house. Two white boxers. The female dog was very protective of the house & in general of the owner. There were times that she pinned down large pitbulls, rottweilers, and German shepherds that were 2 to 3 times her size.
When I finally, got approval from the dogs to stay in the house, meaning they became comfortable with me. I went into the office, which was situated at the back of the house. No one in sight, since it was the middle of the night & no one was expected since everyone was told that I was house sitting for the long-weekend. I clearly, wasn't expecting anyone. I relaxed and started to surf the web. The dogs had come in to keep me company. The St. Bernard lay on a large leather couch situated against the wall behind me. The two other dogs, lay on the other leather couch situated on the wall to the right of me. 20 to 30 minutes later I hear the floorboards behind me creak, sounding as if someone was swaying their weight back and forth. I didn't turn around, but it did surprise me. At the same time, the female boxer looked up at something behind me and started to low growl. She wouldn't stop. Her eyes were fixed on something. She then started to bark nonstop. She stood up on the couch and keep looking up in the same direction as she had before. I followed her gaze and looked behind me and saw nothing. At this point, the 2nd boxer started barking as well. I quickly shot up, starting to feel fear but I wanted to keep my cool. I sat next to the two dogs to comfort them. I started telling them, "There's no one here you silly dogs, no one is here." I began to rub their heads, ears, and body to calm them down. As I sat on the couch I felt that there was someone outside of the office. I heard more creaking, almost like footsteps outside the office door, which I had closed, being somewhat afraid in an unknown house in the middle of the night. I thought, "Whomever is here, will just open the door. It's probably cousin Ben checking up on the house," I told myself. Finally, after a while the dogs calmed down, relaxed, and resumed sleeping.
When the relatives came back from their trip & I went back to visit them about a week later they asked me if 'everything' was ok. I stated that everything had been fine & there were no worries. The relative hesitated a bit, but began to tell me of ghostly experiences that she had in the house. It seems that the previous owner, the older gentleman who had built the house still came to pay them a visit on a frequent basis. I began to tell them of my experience.
