    Exclamation Home Maintenance help

So, I screwed up. I recently installed 6" recessed lights in my TV room and I cut the hole in the drywall ceiling a bit too big on 2 of the 6.

What's the best way to close down the opening? Should I throw some mud up there an paint over it? Can I buy a wider trim to hide the opening?

    Help!

I would try the mud route, not a pro but I'd try to make it work before I tried to do something about using a bigger hole than I planned on. The other option is to splice in a new piece of drywall if you really humped it.

I would assume that you bought remodel cans to install. If the hole is not so big that the remodel cans do not fall out when installed, install the cans. If you know how to mud and tape then use some 40 minute hot mud and drywall tape to fill in the gaps.

I found a very cheap and great looking fix! Wider trim.

    Trim-Ring-6 Extra Wide Trim Ring

99 cents each and the lights look great.

    Thanks for the responses, fellas!
