if you are going to be in the dublin area, i would recommend heading out to glendalough. There is a ruined monastic village and mining village. Lake, waterfall, and if you are lucky you might catch a glimpse of some sika deer. there is a bus that you can take to get there. also if you are in dublin i would take advantage of the live music around camden street and harcourt street. i haven't been since 2000 so i couldn't give you any more than that, but i had a lot of fun when i went there.
