    Default I need a job.

I'm looking to take on a night time job for some extra cash during the week. 4-5 hrs a night. I've only ever worked in an office environment, never in retail. I'm thinking it may have to be something in retail since it would be a night job, right? Or maybe a restaurant? I've got a lot of customer service experience, so I can deal with people. Or maybe stock boy at Home Depot if I don't want to deal with people.

Any other good suggestions out there? I'm expecting funny suggestions, but I hope some legit ones too. Thanks!!!

If you're in good physical shape try applying to UPS to load trucks. It's part time work, at night. Also the best loaders may become drivers, with really decent pay and benefits (Teamsters).

What's your primary profession? Is there any way you can turn that into some freelance dollars or get a somehow related job after hours?

You shouldn't have any trouble picking up a job at a place like Best Buy or Target... they looooove part time workers since they don't have to pay out full-time perks and benefits.

The key is to just show some commitment during the interview. "BB/Target seems like a great place to build the foundation for a long career", etc.

Good luck wherever you end up!

The UPS/FedEx box loading idea is a good one, but you do have to be in physical shape to do it. Also, Costco has people working either late night or early morning moving product around, usually with a forklift. One of our techs did that before work every day. He eventually quit working for us and is now a Costco store manager making bank. Bastard.

All good ideas, except for adgy's, lol. I like to think I'm in pretty good shape, but I pull weird muscles in my back when brushing my teeth sometimes. No joke. I also have aches and pains in my hips/legs from playing hockey. I'd love to work for FedEx/UPS just to get into those companies. I have resumes and cover letters ready to go. I'm making a list of local places to apply. I'll add Target to the list. Not sure about Best Buy. I shop there alot and would feel weird mixing business w pleasure. But I might have to eventually.

My background is customer service in the travel industry. Worked for a cruise line a few yrs back and a Safari vacation company. I also was a rep for a wedding album company. In my spare time now, I design wedding albums, so I know PhotoShop and Fireworks. Problem is that those gigs are few and far between.
