For those of you who don't have an earthquake app on your phone, or obsess over seismic station data, there have been quite a few significant earthquakes around the world in the past few days:

Now, I don't want to freak anyone out, but there have been three moderate to strong earthquakes on the Pacific-North American plate boundary, which the San Andreas fault zone is a part of. The first was off the coast of southern Mexico, the second off the coast of Oregon, and the third in the Gulf of California. Obviously there is no fool-proof way to predict earthquakes (sorry, Mr. Mogi), but these three have epicenters not that far from us, globally speaking. So what I'm saying is, if you aren't prepared, you might want to think about it, just in case...
