Default If You Haven't Already, You Might Want To Buy An Earthquake Kit

For those of you who don't have an earthquake app on your phone, or obsess over seismic station data, there have been quite a few significant earthquakes around the world in the past few days:

    Real-time Earthquake Map

Now, I don't want to freak anyone out, but there have been three moderate to strong earthquakes on the Pacific-North American plate boundary, which the San Andreas fault zone is a part of. The first was off the coast of southern Mexico, the second off the coast of Oregon, and the third in the Gulf of California. Obviously there is no fool-proof way to predict earthquakes (sorry, Mr. Mogi), but these three have epicenters not that far from us, globally speaking. So what I'm saying is, if you aren't prepared, you might want to think about it, just in case...

The big one won't happen until the Kings are in a Game 7 of the Cup Finals. The game won't be able to be played because of all the damage and the Kings will have to forfeit the game and lose the Cup.

I've been earthquake, riot, fire storm, flood, pestilence and famine prepared for decades now. By next month, I'll be totally ready for the Zombie Apocalypse too.

Been telling the folks around here to get ready for the worse and hope for the best for years. They think they are all just gonna come to my house.

Same here, they think they are coming here. One of things I prepared for is making sure they don't!

You should all subscribe to EDIS text messaging for Southern California. Yeah, it can get spammy, but its stuff you need to know.

**** it, I'll just turn around now and drive back to Texas. I was really starting to like it there.

BTW, just so you all understand, the big one is waiting for me to get back to town. The last 2 years, every time I've traveled, just as I left, the weather went to ****. Chicago had a craptastic snowstorm and the highest recorded heat in 100 years. Dallas, Tornados and longest heat wave in history or some****. I was driving to Houston 10 days ago, Tornados hit Texas. Was gonna go through Amarillo last night, Giant Hail and Tornados and I had to re-route.

at the draft party a couple of years ago, and under a considerable haze, i heard Birdman yell out the following (about 4 or 5 times, i think) - "don't marry yourselves to players!" he went on to reiterate that idea more than once on the boards, and i believe it to be absolutely sage.
