Terrible to feel empty. Probably that is what drove you to become a psychologist. Hope you find the answer, because booze sure isn't it. Frankly I don't think talk therapy helps that much. Psychopharmacology can help. One of the best shrinks in that field is an older man, 40 years in the field, and won't string you along with weekly talk therapy, but rather find the right med for you.
