Well yes I imagine it was. Have seen them sometimes out here in the valley on the Owens River and they run like hell to get out of the sight of humans. They rightfully do fear and try to avoid humans. Young calf,dog,cat, now, that's a different thing. They'll go for food only if they think they have the advantage.
