my dog got sprayed in the face by a skunk Went to camp for the weekend with the family at San Onofre. Dog got sunken in the face. Lips, eyes, ears...a little on the legs. A quick rinse with water and a towel scrub at the camp site to help her see and breath, then I rushed her home and shampoo showered her after a tomato juice scrub. All visible traces seem to be gone...she still stinks. What do I do!?
bend down, sniff her head and see if she still stinks, then get smacked right in the nose as she lifts her wet stinky head up. lastly, promptly throw up.
at least that's what happened to me.
I BELIEVE I'll have another beer!
Dawn dishwashing detergent. Not anything else, that brand.
Baking Soda.
Bathe, rinse, repeat.
at the draft party a couple of years ago, and under a considerable haze, i heard Birdman yell out the following (about 4 or 5 times, i think) - "don't marry yourselves to players!" he went on to reiterate that idea more than once on the boards, and i believe it to be absolutely sage.

I'll have to try the dawn in the morning. Exhausted. Got most of smell knocked down. But it's still lingering.
The ride up the 5 through San Clemente, I was gagging and tearing up. At one point I was driving with my head almost completely out the cab of my jeep. Now it's almost tolerable...almost.
That sucks!
Groomers have a deskunk shampoo. I had a dog that would get sprayed all the time, almost like she enjoyed it. Petco knew exactly why we were there.
