My New York Road Trip
Heading out Wednesday morning for the east. Going to go to the games against the Islanders, Devils and Rangers...
Anyone else going?
Any suggestions on must visit food/beer spots - near the venues?

For the Devils game there are several places close by. I can't recommend any, I only went past them.
For the Rangers, you're in Manhattan, so take your pick.
Have a great time!

Thats a great trip. Enjoy yourself. Wish I had recommendations but best I can offer is pregame at an Irish pub in Manhattan worked for me.

You shouldn't go to Brooklyn.
My mother's nutcase relatives live there, haha.
Good Jewish delis there though.
This one is great!

Did this trip while Gretz played with the Kings. Only we went to Hartford instead of the Isles. The Whale played in a rink that was attached to a mall!
Anyway enjoy MSG - I think it is the finest venue in all of sports. All luxury boxes are at the top of the arena leaving not a bad seat in the house for regular folk. Hit Little Italy - I hear many great up and coming Italian chefs are buying back the old family restaurants. The original families began to sell them - primarily to Asian people who continued to cook Italian - in the 1980's. Yes I am an Italian ...
Enjoy your trip - that will be awesome!

Was planning on this trip but we ended up buying a house instead. Maybe next year.

Not only is it one of the best to see a game but they just finished a three year renovation and it's better than ever (saw a game last year).

Go to the "Meatball shop". There's one in the village and a few in Brooklyn I believe. Place was almost a religious experience for me, quite delicious. Hipster as hell in there though
