    Default Need ice skates TONIGHT!

Anyone know of a rink that does overnight ice skate rentals? I have an opportunity to skate at staples after the game tonight but dont own ice skates.

    Any ideas?

Thanks in advance for your help and reply!

Go by a Play It Again and look and see if they have a used pair that fit. If you dont mind skating in rentals it should not matter. I have had luck picking up cheap skates for my kids here in San Diego. Sometimes if it is a really old model I have had luck getting them to knock down the price even further. IMO its never a bad idea to have your own pair, just make sure the steels are in good shape and they throw in a free sharpening.

Also, if you only want them for a little bit you can always sell them back. You might also have some luck posting this in the hockey players forum, someone might have an extra pair that they can loan you. What size do you need?

Thanks for the reply. My brother and I both wear Size 10.5 shoes, but I dont know how that translates to skates?

I did find a place willing to rent overnight for $10 each ($50 deposit). Here is the link if anyone else is looking. Contact Us

I'm thinking this might be the easiest as they should be already sharpened / in good condition (I hope). Plus I have no idea about ice skates and how to pick a good pair from a bad pair.

Most likely a size 9 will work for you, however you will need to try them on and see how they feel. Also, make sure that both skates are sharpened evenly. Nothing can ruin a fun skate like having one sharp skate and one that is dull.

Sizing depends very much on brand of skate. Some skates are 1.5 sizes smaller, some 1 size, and some are the same as the shoe size.
