Need some prayers (and good thoughts) from my lgk bro's and sis's
So I had to come down to Palm Desert, CA from my home in the Pacific NW due to my dad getting in a pretty serious car accident yesterday. I won't go into too many details but he managed to get a pretty decent concussion and broke the vertebre in his neck that controls movement of his skull. He had full movement of his limbs and was a cognizant as he could be considering a good concussion but he did need the "halo" apparatus, which he was operated on to get yesterday afternoon. I flew down (on FBJ's Southwest!) late last night and got into the hospital to see him at around 1 am. The only other issue is due to his age (78 years young) they were worried about his breathing so they had to intibate (spelling?) and with that miserable tube down his throat he is in a medically induced coma. So pretty scary stuff all together.
I am an only child and am here without my family due to the emergency and all. I spent all day calling family and friends and dealing with accident reports and tow yard to locate his totalled car and collect the personal effects in his car (amazingly everything was there - checkbook, cell phone even his glasses! WOOT for humanity and my faith still in it!). But enough about me.
Can I ask you all to pray and think good thoughts for him right now? Need all the good karma we can get. He has a son and two grand daughters (and a daughter in law) who want him to pull through this. And besides he and I supposed to fish Sitka, AK this July and it just won't be any fun if he can't be there - LOL!!
