Northern Lights in So Cal?

Next few days its possible. Crazy solar flares coming at us!

Shouldn't they be called Southern Lights, then?

Its all fun and games until the flare is directed at your house, and all your computers get fried!

No, considering we're in the northern hemisphere and they originate from the north poll. See what I'm getting at?

B/c I was stating the obvious and didn't realize he was joking or what? And yes, I know they "originate" from the sun when a cornal mass ejection (sounds kinky) eventually collides w/ earths magnetic field and blah blah blah......science takes care of the rest. I don't need to go into all those details I'm sure.

But last time I did check, we're in the northern hemisphere and not even close to the equator or south of it where you wouldn't see the northern lights.

But I'm sure saticlaws comment was just a smart ass one that I didn't let go.
