I don't buy the pastor's "apology" one bit. I had to look up the church and then a really inappropriate joke popped in my head. One of you will be able to figure it out but I'll keep it clean. Not tipping at all is a bull **** move when the service is fine.

Musta been a wild and wooly affair with more than 8 in the party and only spending a total of $35.

Haha first thing I noticed as well. We're talking about a difference of $2.80 between 10% and 18%.

I don't mind the automatic gratuity with groups that are big. But in a lot of Florida hotels, it seems that they add an 18% gratuity automatically even if its just me dining by myself. They claim its because the vacationing Euros don't tip. The problem I have is that an automatic gratuity in a situation like that has nearly always resulted in my server giving me absolutely abysmal service...even when the bar or restaurant is empty!!!

Maybe he just didn't think the service is special enough.

I wish I believed in fairy tales so I had an excuse to tip you less.

"I don't tip because society says I have to. Alright, I tip when somebody really deserves a tip. If they put forth an effort, I'll give them something extra. But I mean, this tipping automatically, that's for the birds. As far as I'm concerned they're just doing their job."
