I'm not surprised by this. Many (if not most) Irish Whiskey makers have shared distilleries for quite some time.

Sorry, but the Whiskey that I have been loving is Jim Beam Signature Craft, and I have been to the distillery where they make it. Also, George Dickle, and Jack Daniels distilleries. Now I was either really ****ed up, or I was completely fooled

Felten has a point, though: some of these liquors have origin or marketing stories that are deeply at odds with the truth.
That was sort of Felton's whole point, some of these companies are basically deceiving consumers.

The OC's Weekly's point seems to be "Yeah, you are being misled but who cares because it's all good anyway"

True, but their point was also that it doesn't matter because it's the blending that gives the whiskey its taste. You give the distiller your recipe, they distill it for you, and you blend it and slap a cool label on and market it as "small batch." I can see being upset if the marketing is all B.S. but if you like the taste, it really shouldn't matter. I have no idea what it tastes like because whiskey in general tastes like ass. I'd much rather have a nice bottle of:

Yeah, I agree with that. They are right about that quality, nor taste, is affected. I was just irked that all these hipster whiskey's are basically lying about how "authentic" they are.

And for the record, I usually drink vodka, gin, or rum before I do whiskey and if do drink it i. not any of the hipster stuff anyway.

So I guess if was really going to boil down what my beef is that hipsters suck and they should quit lying.
