One of the highlights of my youth was seeing one of NASA's Blackbirds fly a demonstration at Pt. Mugu in 1983. We were sitting in the grandstands and the narrator had us looking show left (out towards the ocean) for some aircraft that he was describing in vague detail when the Blackbird shot past us from our right to left. We had a couple seconds of, "Whoa! An S..."WHAABOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM as the sound caught up to the crowd and scared the crap out of us. It did half a dozen passes at various speeds and configurations before it bugged out to go back to Dryden.
I still get wood thinking about that.
Anything worth shooting is worth shooting twice. Bullets are cheap. Life is priceless.
