Bob lives up the street from me but he is moving to Palm Dessert where his brother lives in a retirement community. I still have many posters from the Skunk Works that I want him to sign so I will be seeing him again.

I'm glad to hear he's still around!

He won't remember me (having been one student out of six dozen along with it having been almost 20 years ago), but wish him well for me. He was as knowledgeable as he was kind and gracious, willing to sit and talk as long as there were young men and women who were interested in what he had to say.

There's an outdoor museum in Palmdale with 3 or 4 SR-71's and several other aircraft. We stopped by last summer for a while, and it was incredible to study them up close.

So next time you're going thru Palmdale with a few hours to kill (who doesn't experience this?), exit Ave P and go east. 3 - 5 miles east of 14 fwy.
