The BONE. Had one fly over our condo in Prescott, AZ in 1995 at about 200' in full afterburner. Aircraft commander was a graduate of the university I went to and was buzzing Love Field. Hands-down the LOUDEST airplane I have ever heard.
The shock clouds around the inlets and beneath the plane is an interesting illustration of how airflow occurs around an aircraft at near supersonic flight. While the airplane itself may be sub-sonic, aerodynamic design sometimes causes areas around the plane where the flow of the air around the aircraft becomes supersonic.
That is my favorite airplane in our inventory. Love seeing the demonstrations at the airshows.
