BMW stands for Bavarian Motor Works which is in the country of Bavaria.
The Blue/White Check in the logo is the National flag Of Bavaria.
The Socialist party (Nazi) in Europe was very strong in Bavaria, when Hitler became Chancellor of Germany in 1932 he immediately invaded Bavaria to strengthen his hand. Within 3 years he had established concentration camps where his famous doctors were working on the perfect race.
After WWII, East Germany, the Russian sector treated it all the same and never split it off.
Now, no more history....back to photos.
Thanks but I’m quite versed in BMW. I’ve owned 9 and currently own two. A E60 550 (wife's DD) and a E30 M3 (my toy) and plan on purchasing a E92 next year sometime. I was once the proud owner of a 2 staged Turbo Charged E36 M3 that laid down 520 bhp at the rear. I’m a 23+ year card caring member of BMWCCA and SCCA. I Club Race (Gentleman’s rules) the E30 when time permits and have a great time doing it. I would consider myself a BMW enthusiast, not a “macho kidee". And yes, I know exactly what the Roundel means.
