What makes the E46 chassis "high-end" versus other 3-series generations? (I assume there is a specific thing about the E46 since you earlier referred to BMWs as "cheap kid cars.")
I don't know about them being cheap, kidee cars though. Lots of models over the years from BMW have been great. If you don't think the E46 M3 or the E39 M5 is not a real car, well, then, I'll probably just save my breath...
Curious as to what you consider a real car in that 35k-100k price range. You posted a pic of a Bugatti and Aston, which are nowhere near the same ball park.
To keep it on topic, here's a pic of a LSB E46 M3. Not sure if I'd feel like an attention whore after a week of owning it, but I love this paint job. If I could find one with low-mileage, manual not that god-awful smg, and in LSB I'd probably buy it on the spot as a weekend driver. I am a Porsche guy, but BMW makes some very, very respectable and "real" cars.
I was about 10 minutes away from pulling the trigger on a ZCP Laguna Seca e46 M3 about 5 years ago . It was fully certified Dinan (28 point) ISS up-tuned and had Flossman Initial GTR Wide Body conversion. It was f***ing GORGEOUS. LSB all around with the WB flares, CF hood, CF Roof and CF Boot lid being flat black. It was 490-ish bhp and was/is the fastest car (0-60: 4.18s/ .25m: 11.29s @127mph), off the line Ive ever driven. It was just a nasty, nasty car.
I walked away from the deal because the boat I’d really, really wanted became available at the price I asked for. Plus my wife was like “WTF”? when she saw it.
