The lack of a middle class ain't good for anybody. Just ask Mexico.
"The real question, it seems to me, is whether we will succumb to the demagogues -- scapegoating of the rich or of the poor -- and find ourselves in a more divided and polarized society or whether we will roll up the sleeves and make the changes in the economy."

People, I come onto LGK so I don't have to think about the problems of the world. If I wanted to do that, I'd go back to reality.
So, you know, shut the **** up and look at random pictures of interesting things.

@x-wingcamewest At risk of furthering a politics topic, this will be my last reply on the matter.
You realize that your life example, demonstrates that you worked real hard to NOT break through the major class barriers. Which is the complete opposite of what you suggest the working poor "should do".
And If you did start off with "less than" nothing, that means you were not an American citizen, did not have a home as a child, did not have proper nutrition as a child, did not have an education, had no means of transportation, you are part of one or possibly several minorities that are regularly subject to discrimination, and most importantly, were left with no assets and received only debt from your previous family's generation. If you do not answer to the affirmative to each of these, then you most certainly started off with more than quite a few people.
This picture is great because I can demonstrate what you are saying with nice bright friendly pictures.
Here's your posts recapped referencing the graphic -
Hey guy in the bottom 20% (dark blue guys), put your assets at risk, sweat blood, do with out for some several years, and then you'll be in the top 20%(red guys).
This makes total sense, because I started as a 2nd 20%(light blue guys), worked my ass off, saved nickles and dimes, did with out, sweated blood, invested well, didn't go deep into debt buying the latest greatest what ever, lived well within means, and became the 3rd 20% (green guys).
With that, I bow out. Back to Random pictures!!!! Sorry for the politics peeps. I smell BS and have to call it out. It's in my nature.
