Feb. 10, 1942. Boston's famed "Kraut line" of Milt Schmidt, Bobby Bauer and Woody Dumart being carried off on the shoulders of Boston and Montreal players after their final game before reporting for active duty. They were the first ever line to finish 1-2-3 in NHL scoring. All three were boyhood friends from a German community in Kitchener, Ontario (formerly Berlin, Ontario) who shared in a small apartment in Brookline, Mass. All three joined the Canadian Air Force, returned to the Bruins after the war and were eventually inducted into the NHL Hall of Fame.
