Seriously...though. My dad used to say the same thing. That was back when airplane fuel was pennies per gallon. Now, the weight required to install a wheel-spinup system would be cost-prohibitive in the long run because of the amount of extra fuel it'd take to haul the things around. And I'm not sure that spinning them up would save that much in wear and tear to begin with. I've seen airplane tires put through a whole lot prior to failure.
And that pic is post max-energy aborted takeoff test. Fuse plugs melted and deflated the tires before the thing was stopped completely.
