    Cat bath rules:

    1. use kitchen sink, not bathroom sink or tub.
    2. close ALL kitchen doors (just in case, but our cats never got away)
    3. get tap water somewhat warm, before you start looking for cat in the back of the house.
    4. once you have cat, walk toward kitchen door. Before you go into kitchen, grab back of cat's neck - VERY firmly / hard.
    5. walk cat to faucet, and dunk him in. Our cat just looked at us with such a shocked look on his face, it was hilarious.
    6. keep your firm grip on back of cat's neck as you use shampoo on cat. Swish cat around the sink a bit. Rinse and repeat.
    7. have a few bath towels handy, and wrap cat in towel when done.
    8. do this on a hot summer day, our cat would just lay in the sun for an hour or 2 after it was over.

    I didn't got clawed once.

We started this on a young kitten - maybe a year old, and he got used to it. He eventually just stood in the sink and took it - I think he liked getting clean once or twice a year.
Our other cat was maybe 5 yrs old when we started his baths - he was quite shocked at first, but eventually he didn't put up much of a fight either.

I'd rather put my upper torso down a running garbage disposal.

Cats usually take care of themselves enough that baths are unnecessary. Had a cat for over 20 years. In the last 10 years we bathed that cat maybe once.

thanks though, but it's not my cat. and on a second look at those scratches, they could be from a jellyfish or two. who knows.
