    Default Rolling memorials

Yesterday morning (friday 8/10) I found myself stuck in the backed up traffic on the southbound 5 as the freeway was stopped due to a big rig fire.
looking around at the other cars trapped with me I noticed that on 7 of them had some kind of memorial of a passed love one on their back windows. There were a couple who were #1 Laker Fan, 1 that was #1 Duck's fan and the rest dedicated to a child, spouse or parent.

I know it was happenstance to come across so many at one time but each day I normally see 1 or 2.

When did it suddenly become the in thing to "dedicate" one's car as a rolling memorial on wheels?

I have noticed lots of that too.
I thought it was a Latin thing that's catching but who knows..

What got me a few years ago was when this ID 10 T error put Ducks spinners on a dented up 1972 Pinto... What a horrible thing to devalue a Pinto...

When I croak, I want people to drive around with me in a glass coffin on top of their cars.
Only by living absurdly is it possible to break out of this infinite absurdity.

It would be easier to carry you around in some cans of tuna in the trunk. In case of an emergency.

I think it goes right along with you folks that put your stupid stick figure families, including pets on your cars. I think it is just another page of the "Look at me/us, we are wonderful and special" attitude so many have these days. I've always wanted to add another figure to their family like Sylvia the mistress, Sancho the pool boy, or Father Flanagan or Uncle Burt holding hands with the appropriate family member.

I haven't done it because it would be vandalism, but it would be funnier than hell to see it on someones car for a few days until they noticed it.

Apparently criminals also can use the info in the stick figure family. Like if the kids are playing an expensive sport like hockey, they will think the family might be wealthier because it isn't cheap to play. If they include their pets and fhe family has cats but no dog om the window, there's that info, or something that identifies a military husband can tip off that the wife might be alone in the house. It isn't surprising that people would use that free advertising for bad purposes.

ya, i don't get that. i would never advertise to everyone on the street how many people are in my fam and what role they play. especially the one with all the kids' names on it. wtf people, get some common sense.

What if it is a trap, and they put more people on their than they really have in their family?
