I have not had much trouble selling season seats, but I think my method is different than most. I had two seats in 332 which were 23.50 each. That meant I had to list at about $28 each to break even. I ended up selling 15 pairs of tickets during the regular season, 14 of which sold for break-even or higher, including weeknight games vs. Ottawa, Minnesota, Anaheim, and Phoenix (twice!).
My approach was to list the majority of my tickets, fully intending to attend any games that didn't sell at the $28 list price (or higher). Therefore each game had only two possible outcomes - I was either in attendance or I got the full value of my tickets back.
The only time I lost money on a game was the one time I HAD to sell the tickets because I couldn't attend.
