    Glad you are ok.

And yes, I am sure we have all had these moments. For me it was in college and it was the end of "Hell Week" as a pledge in a fraternity. I was driving home from the festivities about 2 in the morning and was on the 5 South in Burbank area, a freeway I drove every day. Then I blacked out/fell asleep due to lack of sleep. I still don't know for how long (length of time) this happened but it was about a 2 mile stretch between two exits right next to my house. I just woke up in the exact same lane I had been traveling in so I guess I was super lucky that way. I was sure wide awake for the rest of the drive home!

I think it's one of those things too when afterwards you realize you took such a big risk for something so stupid. I guess that's why it's a mistake.

And as someone mentioned, the notion of what could have happened will surely wear off but it should hopefully be enough to prevent a similar incident in the future.

It was 1:35 AM near Scott Road exit. You sideswiped my car. Send me $1,845 for the damage.

I tire-rubbed the freeway barrier after having worked 25 hours straight. it was during the morning rush hour. if I had been going faster at freeway speed, I might have flipped over. but still, moving at slow speed usually gets me sleepy, so I decided to pull off and take the side streets the rest of the way home which was 10 miles away.
I BELIEVE I'll have another beer!

Very early Sunday morning, I was driving home from in LA and foolishly chose to try to make it all of the way even though I was extremely tired. Apparently, I fell asleep briefly because next thing I know, I feel an impact on the left side of the highway near a cement divider and swerve back to the right into a different lane. Fortunately, very few cars were around and I didn't hit anyone else going into the 2nd lane. I arrived home and was shocked to see that the left side wheels were torn up but there was no other visible damage to the vehicle (which is amazing and a miracle to me). I'm extremely thankful that it wasn't worse.

It's still a little scary to consider that I don't remember much about an accident that occurred while traveling at freeway speed other than a heavy thump and as cliche as it sounds, it really helps you put in perspective how short life is and to make the most of it because it could be over in the blink of an eye.

Next time just turn on your cruise control..........
