There's that big glowing ball of gas in the sky that can provide us with free, infinite power. But what the **** do I know. Big oil is just too ****ing powerful in this country. Obama has been a joke to some extent with renewable energy. Hey they Keystone Pipeline sounds like a great idea. ****wad.

Well not exactly infinite power but as close as we can get to infinite power. But then again I'm a solar whore.

Because burning fossil fuels is WAYYYY Better for the environment???
And because California likes bartering electricity and water from other states!???
    Right????

This sounds like a great idea!!!! *Insert Sarcasm here*

Solar panels is where its at... if everyone had them on their roof, the california powergrid would probably be overloaded with free / eco friendly energy. No more fear of Nuclear Doom and No more burning the dinosaurs...

Nuclear power would be great if we could harness it safely but that isn't going to happen. And its also funny that people think that nuclear is a renewable source of power.

Anyone put those solar panels on their roof? I live out in the SF Valley and it gets ungodly effin hot from like late July to early October. I feel like there are a lot of scams out there that try to take advantage of home owners, so it there a way to understand the cost benefit analysis of various home solar options? Oh, and what is the impact to the roof? I'm worried about the general condition of my roof (some parts of the house more than others), should I deal with that before looking at mounting panels up there?

First of all, $791 mil in upgrades to the generators last year, and second, SOME contractors see big money in your roof. i.e. You'll need to reinforce this, that, and this to hold the panels up...the Solar farms are a good idea, bUT nobody wants the transmission lines to get the power from here to there. i.e. AZ/CA border to our fair city (N.I.M.B.Y.) SONGS isn't going anywhere, except back on line
