I've dealt with this most of my adult life. Recently, I've been battling acute Achilles tendonosis in both ankles, which I'm told by my podiatrist and physical therapist is directly related to my plantar fascitis. I've had twelve sessions of PT which included being subjected to the Graston Technique (translated: ohmygodpainful), extreme stretching, and electrically-administered transdermal anti-inflammatory meds. None of this **** is fun, yo.

But the best thing I've found that has helped the most I think is a rocker board for stretching the calf, Achilles, and plantar fascia.

Thera-band makes the one I bought.

    Sorry for the delayed response.

Those shoes I've mentioned have really helped, but I have to wear them all day, from the moment I step out of bed until Im going to sleep at night. I just started therapy yesterday with a foot specialist. I forget the name of the actual treatment, but he is using a wang to basically jackhammer the bottom of my foot for about 5 minutes at a time. Have to do this for 5 sessions, once every 5 days. It's supposed to increase blood flow to the painful area to jumpstart the healing process of the inflamed tendons, etc in the area your experiencing the most pain. Ill let you know how it works.

And to echo what some others have mentioned... no more flip flops, lots of stretching, and icing it helps (roll a frozen water bottle under your foot a couple times a day).

But like you observed and mentioned, Ive tried everything. I even had 2 pest control contractors come in and give me a estimate...$1200 and $1700 respectively. Both were going to use a indiscriminate type poison that would take hours or days to work and would probably kill off the clans around the property that arent giving me grief. I dont want to draw out their death. Plus they would more than likely all die at one time under my house...bleh...the smell would suck. The good thing about the air gun route is I can hopefully thin the herd to the point where they realize its time go go. Both Contractors told me that GH's are fairly smart animals that will, at some point, realize this area is a bad area and should split. Thats REALLY what Im hoping for. I dont want to waste the whole group. Hopefully it will only take 2 or 3 and they'll bail. One contractor said to leave the carcass out in the open for a day or two and that should trigger them to relocate. Whatever happens, I plan on tossing the dead buggers into the river behind my house to feed the turtles so there wont be any waste.

at the draft party a couple of years ago, and under a considerable haze, i heard Birdman yell out the following (about 4 or 5 times, i think) - "don't marry yourselves to players!" he went on to reiterate that idea more than once on the boards, and i believe it to be absolutely sage.

Okay. I just received notice via email form Nixon that I am being shipped a brand-new watch.

    Brand. New. Watch.

    ZERO charge.

Holy crap!!!! Talk about customer service!! Mine was two years old!

One thing I forgot to mention in my original post about the watch is that one of the main reasons I love this watch is because of the position of the crown. Rather than being on the right (as you look at the face of the watch), it's on the left. This means that there's less of a chance of catching the crown or buttons on things when you're a left-wrist-wearing watch guy. I've broken three other watches by catching them on things...not the Nixon!

Now, there IS one thing I don't care for...and that's black sweep-second hands and mini-dial hands against a black face.

For a wallet, i too have a Coach wallet. They literally last forever. Got one as a high school grad present in 1993 and just got a new one last year. They get worn but dont fall apart at all.

As for watches, i like Victorinix and Wenger. Bith Swiss style watches but pretty classic looking.
i've found Mephisto to be more comfortable (and better looking) than Ecco. but NOTHING compares to the $400 Ferragamo Athos ll i own... f***ing butter!

I gotta agree 1000% with this statement. I own a pair of older Aris Derby:

and a pair of Hickory Arnaud 2's:

I LOVE them. Especially the A2. The loafer is sooo bloody soft inside it feels like you're wearing your best pair of broken-in house moccasin. I just wish I had more of a reason to wear them more often. I haven't worn a pair of Athos or Athos ii's but Ive heard from 3 separate people now that swear by them.

Im a huge Monk Strap fan. Most of my dress shoes are Monk Strap. My absolute favorite and thee most comfortable shoe I've EVER owned is a nicely broken in 13 year old pair of Kenneth Cole (not reaction) Monks that look just like this:

I forgot their name but they are fantastic. My second favorite pair are these J&M Cullis MS:

They both look great in both casual and dress.

Twas both a good and momentous day at the nocturn house! I picked up my new Hugo Black Suede Mid Shearling from having the arms brought in a bit AND the first shift in Suns style occurred in 15 years...! My new pair of Maui Jim "Island Time" arrived! I've worn MJ's for 21 years and have only worn 3 styles. First was the original "Maui Cat" (from 1989-1997). Second was "Typhoons" (from 1997-2012) and now "Island Time". Bastards discontinued the Typhoons! I guess 15 years was a good run. I currently own 6 pairs of Typhoons that I rotate through, 1 per year is usually what it ends up averaging. When I get to about the 5th pair, every 5 years or so, I send them all back to MJ to have the "lenses" replaced for $60 + S&H. What they actually do is send you a brand new pair. So you get a brand new pair of $220 sunglasses for $60. They said they'll still service the Typhoons but I was ready to move on to a different style. My rep ended up hooking me up with 4 "VIP Free Pair" cards because of my loyalty and to help ease the transition pains. lol. If you havent guessed it yet, Im UBER brand loyal and a believer in "find something you love and stick with it." So I have officially moved to "Island Time":

Yes, that is me. The wife gives me grief DAILY for not updating my FB and Lnkd-In pics from 10 years ago so I told her we could shoot a couple this eve.
