Plain black suits still are a no-go where I work. If you still wear them, brace yourself for the funeral parlor comments.

Easy workaround: Get a black suit with fine anthracit or brownish pinstripes. Looks slick and you can wear it whenever you want.



On a side note, I recently re-discovered wearing handkerchiefs to a suit. Some style consultant dude at work encouraged us that hankies are not just for CEOs. Looks a bit too pretentious to wear everyday, but definitely cool.

Thinking of hitting up a casino on Saturday. Black suit, white shirt, cuffs, silver hankie and brown-silver tie...perfect.

If it makes you feel better I'm in the rather odd position of having to research a wine fridge. Nothing overly fancy 12-18 bottles is all we have space for. Have at it if anyone has tips. We've only recently started buying enough wine to store for a few years.

Ha! I ended up telling her they wouldnt let me take pics after I sent her 2 from the Hermes in the Belagio. I was pretty s**t faced and took pics of the bags in the display windows and that was that. I was with High School buddies and didnt want to waste time with stupid s**t like cellphone shopping. She got over it.

Saturday night we all went out to the Cosmo and got *PLASTERED* at that Hamburger joint and then at the Chandelier Bar. Later on my boy Brad lost 10k at the BJ table while the rest of us just drank at that raised lounge bar in the casino. I pretty much blacked out after about 4 am. Cool thing was I wore my old 01-02 Kings Third Deadmarsh Jersey while my boys got all dressed up. I got Kings Love from random peeps 30+ times that night. Got hit on by a group of girlies that liked the Kings. Broke off the conversation when things started to get uncomfortable. I wasnt there for that. I was there to hang with my buds. Unfortunately, I had to cut the trip short by 4 days because of a client that has OCD and cant think for himself but I enjoyed being with friends I hadnt seen in 25 years. Anyway, Good times!

I'm sure a lot of wine people might tell you otherwise but other than swag factor I wonder if a wine fridge is necessary at all. My buddy who digs his wine keeps his bottles in a storage closet. I store my beer (yes you can age bottles of beer as you would wine) in my closet. Really all you need is a dark area with a relatively mild and stable temperature. But since I don't know much about wines (other than I have a growing appreciation for cabs), take my advice with a grain of salt.

My problem is I don't really have a storage area that's dark and relatively temperature controlled. The garage is a no go. Our under stair room currently serves as the linens and cleaning supplies closet. I have room in my home office for a rack or a fridge. My office is on the southwest side of our house and while the temp doesn't vary much I still like it on the warm side so it's a pretty constant 70-78 in there. Not the best environment for attempting to age wine from what I've been reading. Fridge's don't seem extravagantly expensive, actually marginally more than my beer fridge in the garage. To that end I'm not looking for a talking piece, just something that I can plug in set and forget for the most part.

we have a sanyo wine fridge, i think it fits 18 bottles. i got it as a wedding gift 8 yrs ago as a collective gift (with a bunch of other wine accessories) from a group of friends. it wasn't on my registry. apparently, the girl who got it for us thought getting us towels would be a lame gift so she collected monies from my husband's other friends and they went all in. it's ok, it does its purpose and even though i don't like her, i like the fridge. we don't have a/c here so the occasional days where it gets really hot, my wine is still kept at a constant, cool temp so that's nice. only drawback is i don't really think sanyo's a great brand and i get frost in the upper back that i need to find the time to get rid of. i currently only have 3 bottles in there so i've been kind of lazy about it.

just looked at my wine fridge. it actually holds about 30 bottles and the frost went away on its own. woohoo!
