I can only imagine what my neighbors would think if I started firing buckshot at the squirrels, lol.

I went ahead and bought the Wolf Module 2.1 Heritage Triple Watch Winder:
I talked to a very nice Wolf rep a few weeks ago and she said it was fully expandable so I was sold. I really like the full enclosure aspect of it. Although I'm a pretty clean person, I still have issues with dust in the Master bedroom so the enclosure helps with keeping the winder mechanics and ultimately my timepieces nice and clean. Setting up the "clocks" for each watch was a little bit of a pain in the arse but I finally got the RPM's dialed in. It also looks killer on my flame mahogany chest of drawers.
I'm actually thinking about stripping the guts out of it and swapping the leather finish with some Curly Koa I have left over. If I do that, I'll probably add 2 more clock mechs for future watches.
My 20th Wedding Anniversary is this July and I've been hinting the wife for a new timepiece. Cant believe I'm about to say this because I generally dont like Rolex but the new Yacht Master 2 White Gold/Platinum 116689 in Auto is DROP DEAD GORGEOUS and way, WAY OVER our Anniversary budget...to say the least. Shoot for the stars is in order here, lol. I can get it for half price but I *gulp* every time I think about how much it is even at half. It'll be almost 3X what I've paid for any other watch...and thats half the price. But then again, you only have your 20th Anniversary once I think. lol.
I've also hinted at the 2013 Omega Constellation Auto Chrono,1514.51.00 in Polished/Brushed Stainless as a back up gift. Thats more in our price range.

Nocturn, are you still killing whistle pigs, or have they den'd back up do to weather?
I haven't seen any here yet, I think it is still to cold, but I did see a couple badgers nosing around for them last week end. That is what I hate about them most, they attract badgers. You haven't seen excavation until you see a badger go to town after a whistle pig.

Not in the past 2 days. Had to work late both days and like you said, the weather out here has been crap since Wednesday when it was 70 degrees. Today its not going to make it out of the 30's and we're getting sleet/snow right now so the gang of pigs are probably hunkered down until Monday when the sun should pop out and the temps shoot up to 55. 45 degrees and sun or 55 degrees and clouds seem to be their movement requirements at this point in winter.
Nope, no Badgers out this way thank god. I know exactly what your saying about them going apeschit chasing after a dirt rodents. We had a clan living behind our house in Riverside (Canyon Crest) when I was a kid in the 70's. They would drive my Pops and our German Sheps nutz. I cornered one on accident once in our old out building and that thing went berserk scaring the living crap out of me. I was probably like 8 years old. lol
I'll try and get off a few pics of these eastern groundhogs before I dispatch them all. Like I said in a previous post, these guys arent your typical groundhogs found out west. These things average about 20 pounds with the 4 grand-daddy ground hogs here being near 30 pounds and around 24" long. Big fat f***ers. Groundhog #3 last Wednesday was around 25ish pounds and was as big as a Corgie dog. His girth was easily 30"+ around. Bigger than a Beaver in the 1970's (*wink *wink lol) When the big ones sit up while munching my Hostas, the top of their heads fall between my knee cap and hip and I'm 6'3". They're huge and dig huge, multi chambered dens.
I tossed all three victims from Wednesday's hunt into the river behind my house. The turtles are still sleeping but the Local Bald Eagles and Ospreys took care of the bodies before they sank. Luckly the water temp down there is warm enough to keep everything floating long enough to be used.

20+ lbs?! holy crap, that's how big my dog is. then again ron swanson says a proper dog is 50 lbs and up. anything smaller is a cat and cats are pointless. haha.
good on you for recycling those groundhogs into nature's food chain.
If I recall you do woodworking right? If so, then building your own custom enclosure makes sense and would look great, especially with Koa or other exotic woods. Wolf also has the 2.7 modular expandable model too that might make a better candidate to tear apart for a custom build.
I was going to get a Rolex Lady Datejust 26mm (yellow gold) for my Ex, was going to give it to her on her birthday but we broke up before then...no money lost though as it was used from a friend that got it from her ex, lol.

It looks like the winder guts (motor, gears, chipset, etc) are made by a company called Mabuchi which is surprising because Wolf is a German company. German company using Japanese guts? BLASPHEMOUS! If I could find a wholesaler that sells the guts from the escutcheon ring inward including the "Lock in Cuff", I wouldnt have to buy a full winder and then destroy it.
Ive never been a big Rolex fan. I have friends that swear by them but they're the "Look at ME! (I need love because I have low self esteem and an even smaller penis) Look at what I can afford!" types whereas I buy things that make me happy, not things that make me feel better about myself by way of admiration from others. I generally don't give a crap about what people think when I buy stuff unless I'm posting in a thread like this where we're supposed to display our goodies. But when I saw that YM II in WG and Plat a few months ago at well known Watchmaker's shop in DC, in my mind I said:
"HOLY SH*******T...*gulp* THATS THE MOST...WOW...!"
Kind of like the same thing I said to myself when I met my wife. The whole love at first sight thing.
I mean, look at this:
If there was 1 thing I would change on it, it would be to remove the bigass "Yacht-Master II" on the Bezel. Im not big on logos and stuff. As long as I know what it is and who made it, its good enough for me. But I can wayyyy live with that.
lol, On a lighter note, read the reviews on this Zenith Fisch (and any other watch junkies out there). I just about fell out of my chair laughing:
Zenith Defy Xtreme Men's Sea Tourbillon Titanium Watch | Overstock.com
LOL! I found it while searching "Watch Winder Mechanics, Guts, Drives" in google and just about died when I read the reviews. LMAO! Wow Zenith makes some uglyass, overpriced watches.
Product tag: "could feed many starving children or it could tell you its time to chow down baby!" LMMFAO!
