I've been saving for an Accuracy Interational AE MKIII for the rifle to add to my collection. Was going to get a SAKO TRG-22 but the AI is a little more appealing.

If I want to save money, the H-S Precision HTR was in the mix too.

What kind of grip is that on your G35? I have had a Houge slip on since the day I bought my G17 back in 2001 because my sweaty hands are no match for the polymer.
We are the Samurai, the warrior elite who protect and serve. Armed and armored from head to toe, masters of our personal weapons and bound by Honor, Duty, Loyalty, and Honesty. We walk the long path into the places society would prefer forgotten, and chase those demons that most would run from screaming in fear. We are the Samurai.

That was just a representative picture of the work I'm having done on the outside. My gun looks box-stock so far, aside from the Heavy Ice magwell I installed to add some weight to the bottom end for softer recoil and to assist in speeding up the mag exchanges.

What's pictured is a custom stippled grip. Basically, they use a hot iron to melt a shallow pattern into the polymer. It is a VERY aggressive grip, and will definitely beat your sweaty palm problems. Of course, it can be done DIY style, but the results aren't nearly as nice-looking as having a professional do it for you. I've seen some really boogered-up looking Glock grips owned by guys who do it themselves with a soldering iron.

I'd recommend this guy's services if you're thinking of doing your duty weapon:
    Glock Carry Grip Job - $125.00 : tarantacticalinnovations.com

This place also does grip jobs (and they've got a pretty cool Silicon Carbine grip job).
    Grip Work

You can also look at a package of grip tape. I think it works okay on a budget:
    Decal Grip Tape Glock 3rd Generation 19 23 25 32

The Hogue Glock Condom isn't worth much, IMO. I had one on my G21, and found that if moisture gets between it and the weapon frame, it's just as slippery as not having anything there.

What's funny about all these grip mods is that me and my two buddies Scott and Matt have been doing Glock frame and grip mods since the early 1990s. We undercut the trigger guard to keep it from digging into our strong-hand middle finger and to get a higher grip for better recoil control/second shot accuracy, we hollowed out the beavertail area, we notched a half-moon shape at the base of the grip to help get a hold of the mags to rip them out in case of malfunction (this was before the fully-metal-lined, fall-free Glock magazines came out), then we bead-blasted the entire frame to cut its slipperiness and give it some tack. All of this with a plain old Dremel tool!! Actually had a little business going for a while, there, modifying other people's Glocks when they got a hold of ours and liked what they saw. Never did think of taking hot pokers to them, though. Wish we would have.

I'm going to have these guys build my long-yardage bolt gun.

Sniper Central - Remington 700 Entry Package

A shade under $2900 with a 20" barrel in .308, cerakoted tan, the Accuracy International Chassis, a muzzle brake, a bolt knob, a bipod and a cut-foam Pelican case. I'll then top it with a bitchin' Valdada scope.

Briley can take a plain barrel and rig it for screw-in chokes for a modest fee of about $200. I've got a Browning Auto-5 Light Twenty that I've had them work on. Took it from a fixed modified to a screw-in choke gun that I can shoot everything with now. Took about four weeks, so get it done before bird season starts in September! They take pride in their work!!
Sounds like we need to go hunting together! Im new to bird hunting so whenever you go let me know as i would love to tag along! Or wherever your abouts, im trying to start doing trap and skeet to learn at Oak Tree or Triple B's. PM me and lets see if we can get together!

    I like this gun!
This one isn't the long distance one, its good for 100 yrd shots. Now the weatherby on the other hand is good for 1000+ yrd shots.

What's with the wusses with guns? This is supposed to be THE MAN THREAD. This monkey needs no gun. He uses taekwondo do and poo flinging skillz.

(Note: The abve was just a joke. I do like guns and just chose to be a deadly weapon without one. Carry on.)

I haven't hunted in too damned long. Quite frankly, I love the outdoors stuff, but I don't have a particular love of wild bird of any kind. Dove is okay. And quail and pheasant. But it isn't exactly top of my "love to eat" list, so bird hunting...meh. I'd go just for the sport and the camaraderie. And big game just has never been my thing.

The question is, are YOU? Anything over 600 or so and it becomes a really, really, really difficult kill unless you're on it with your ballistics and you know your holdovers and can get a definite range on it. THEN...only maybe on the sticks or prone with a bipod...can the average hunter pull down some meat at 1000+ yards. Most rounds have just lost so much energy by that point that anything but a perfect shot to a vital organ will result in an animal running bloody. Not questioning your skills (hell for all I know you're a former sniper), just saying that 1000 yards is a damned long way even with a 7mikemag.

Me? No Way. But i have seen it done... On Yourtube i don't think any average shooter is going for 1000 yard kill shot. Personally i believe is irresponsible to try that shot for the animal, but people are capable of it. Shoot i was sighting and breaking in the 7mm and having trouble at putting a 5" group together at 100 yrds .

We all know that being a man isn't about what you own. It's about what you do.

Were it not for the efforts of good men and women in times of crisis, I'd have lost faith in humanity long, long ago.
