I'm actually rocking out with the headphones I got from the Bailey's Buddies thing. They're actually pretty good.

I really haven't found a decent pair of headphones with a mic. The ones from Apple fall appart in about a month, and the ones in the $25 range at Best Buy suck arse as well. The damn mic keeps getting caught on my collar, and it tugs on my ear. I must say that this is quite annoying.

I went by Brookstone last night and looked at a pair of headphones that look great, but they're $90. Just a little too much for me to spend on a set that I'm probably going to lose somewhere.

I'll check ou the Sennheiser buds today.

I have some grey & white Sony earbuds, which have lasted me about a year or more. I love them!

    Great thread

Recently found some nice running shoes. I've had to deal with shin splints, stress fractures, and now plantar fasciitis. I've gone through a countless number of different running/cross trainers and nothing really helped. Until I tried the Brooks Pro Cadence running shoes. Amazing shoes... little to no discomfort from the leg injuries when I'm wearing them. Like most running shoes, they are ugly as all hell (unless you like neon of course)...but I'm willing to sacrifice style for comfort at this point. They'll run you around $120.

These were the most normal looking color scheme I could find...

Any tips on dealing with this? I've gotten shoes with better support, cushioned insoles, etc. and it's done nothing. Pain isn't terrible, just annoying as hell, especially first thing in the morning.

    ***New Toy ALERT!***

Stoeger X20 Supressor Break Barrel Air Rifle .22

Sorry about the messy Garage/Shop. I took off the gawd awfull stock 4/32 scope and added a *nice* BSA 3-9x40 IR with a laser spot.

I know I'll get grief and deservedly so from the tree huggers here as per the "Am I a ass****?" thread which was a expose on controlling a Squirrel/Tomato problem from 4 years ago...but anyway...

I live in the simi boonies and up against a river. I get a HUGE amount of fauna. Deer, Black Bears, Coons, Bald Eagles, Kingfishers, Herons, Otters, Foxes, Squirrels and big ass Groundhogs. I have a tried, ad nauseum to control the severe Ground Hog problem we have. For almost 8 years now, I've been trying to fend them off by humane means and it just hasnt worked long-term. Traps/relocation, Snake Oils, Powders, Sonic devices, 2 outdoor cats....everything. Now if they were just digging up the yard or eating my plants, I'd let them do it without question. But they've been undermining the footing of my house with their burrows. Not good. I have spent well north of $20K in the past 8 years in having footers mudjacked and repaired. I currently have 3 families of between 6 and 14 Groundhogs living on my property with the largest clan living UNDER my house. They are completely out of control. I have reached my end. I live in a fairly large subdivision so black powder is not a option. I tried to use my squirrel control Daisy but noticed it didnt have the lead slinging power to dispatch the large 6-20 pound Groundhogs completely. It would stun or wound them. I dont want that. I want a clean, painless kill hence the Stoeger .22 Airgun. And WOW is it amazing. This thing will drive either a Point Nose or Hollow Point pellet clean through a sheet of 3/4", 7-ply maple plywood at 40 feet with ZERO effort. Havent used it for its intended purpose yet but come spring when the little bastards pop out from their sleep.....BOOM!

    Now, Come at me bros...

Edit: I forgot to mention this thing is QUIET as hell also. Even at 1000fps (1200fps w/Alloy pellets) they managed to silence the standard supersonic *POP* any normal airgun sounds when the pellet leaves the tip. I guess the fixed silence chamber has enough room and deadening power internally to collect the expanding air and kill the noise. Even my Daisy 10 pump $75 dollar POS BB gun makes 3 times as much noise pumped once. Its a FANTASTIC gun to have around in a subdivision that would freak if someone heard that noise. My 10 year old daughter and I have been plinking in the backyard with it and no one knows otherwise.

Couple other observations being this has become somewhat of a review: There is no Iron sight on this so a scope is a must. The gun came with a scope and it would suffice for most peeps but I wanted something for low light because these friggn GHogs seem to come out into the open more often at twilight and darker. I also have a growing problem with raccoons getting into my trashcans at the end of my drive so I bumped up the scope magnification to match the guns max distance. The scope that came with it does have a illuminated reticle BUT no Mil-Dots or Parallax adjustment...which sucks. Another reason I changed out the scope. The gun also needed a serious barrel cleaning and oiling. It was FILTHY out of the box and was causing the pellets to fly everywhere. I also ever so gently filed a slight bevel into the pellet load hole of the barrel. Some of the pellets skirts were too long and not seating correctly when I would go to lock it down.

The trigger has a LOOOOONG 2nd stage draw and needs to be shortened BIG TIME. I'll probably have the trigger replaced. Its crap.

The cocking is smooth and is really easy to break and draw. With a little help, my kid can do it and her arms are about as big as a broom handle.

Here is the Stoeger promo vid:

So far, If I had to put a grade on this gun out of the box, it would be a B+. Now that Ive bumped up the optics, gave the barrel a GOOD CLEANING and have somewhat broken it in with about 200 shots...Its a solid A- to A. Def worth the $190 I paid for it.

Two ways to go. Cheap over the counter orthotic inserts. Versus expensive, if you have insurance. The orthopedic dr. will make a mold of your feet and custom make orthotics for your Plantar Fasciitis. If your insurance allows you to go to any doc, why not see the ones the Kings and Lakers use. Kerlan Jobe. Ask for Phillip K. Kwong, M.D. - Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic. He only works on feet. Many athletes see him for their Plantar Fasciitis. He made me a pair years ago, and the pain never returned.

Here is a extensive review by Airgunweb.com that pretty much sums up the pros and cons about the gun. I agree with just about everything Rick says about it.

Haha! I wish these were just gophers. If they were, I'd just do the old Hose and a Shovel trick I used to do with my Pop back when I was a kid. The things are as big as a Medium sized dog. Their tunnels have a 14"-17" diameter.
