Default WTF? Who takes dirty baby diapers?

On trash day, everyone takes out their cans for pick up. I happened to look out my window to see if the trash trucks came and to my surprise I saw a pick up truck with a pit bull in the back and a bunch of those blue baby diaper trash bags that a lot of people use with those diaper pails. The guy gets out of his truck, goes over to my trash can and starts digging around. He pulls out the two full bags of dirty diapers and throws them in the back of his truck along with the others.

Not only is this gross, but its really weird. Why would this guy go around collecting dirty diapers?

I came across a couple websites. One talked about recycling the dirty diapers and making them into roofing material. The other talked about pedophiles and how they wear the dirty diapers. Just sick ****.

Anyone else know anything about this or experience something similar?

The only time I had something "steal" dirty diapers was when raccoons would raid our trash. This is plain wrong.

wow, well that makes me feel better...
my paper trash keeps getting stolen even though my neighbors' bottles, cans, boxes, etc. go untouched. weirds me out. then there are run down pick up trucks that drive up and down our street looking for random things like scrap metal and just general dumpster diving. it kind of creeps me out, but whatever... it's nothing close to collecting dirty diapers. f***ing nasty.

if it bothers you that much, call the police. scavenging into people's trash cans and recycle bins is illegal.

i called the cops and they can't really do anything about it other than patrol the streets every now and then and then of course, they're never around when the dumpster divers are. they have better, more important things to do/enforce. also, the cop told me it was a municipal code violation (in the city of huntington beach) and nothing else. really, the only thing they are doing is stealing from the trash company since once the bins are carted on to the street, it becomes the property of the trash company. i did call them though thinking it was illegal but that might only be in some cities and not others...

You can stick needles into the knot of the diaper bag before you toss it in the can and put a nice note on top of the lid telling them to enjoy your garbage.

No diapers in my trashcans but by the time the garbage trucks come on Mondays the only thing left is trash thanks to all the scavengers. I have no problem with them taking the junk and selling it for scrap. I know some will say the city loses revenue from the recyclables but if they are going to go through my garbage I say they can have it.

BTW the city is going to go to a trash can only pick up at the first of the year. I don't know if I really like the idea of having to deal with oversize items not being picked up. What are we supposed to do with those items if the truck wont take them? Like mattresses and such.
