    Red face Need a dumb question answered.. {How do I post a picture?}

I would like to be able to post a pic. Someone (can't remember) told me to put the http: and then the link and it will be there.

I feel really stupid, but what if my pic is on my computer? can't I copy and paste? I'm not sure about the http thingy.

See why I don't post that much? lol, I get on here and turn into an idiot. (but I read everyday - )

Tracy, here's a picture of Dustin Brown as an example.

http://cdn.nhl.com/kings/v2/photos/mugs/8470606.jpg <-- That link will lead directly to his picture on your web browser. To post that on forums, you just use the [IMG] [/IMG] tags in the beginning and end of your link to post a picture of it.

    So do this:

[IMG]http://cdn.nhl.com/kings/v2/photos/mugs/8470606.jpg[ /IMG] <-- I added a space to show you what it'll look like. When you do it, don't put any spaces.

The IMG in the bracket can be upper case or lower case, it doesn't matter. Just make sure you have a / to close the bracket at the end.

    You're welcome.

If the picture is on your computer, you'll have to somehow put it up on the internet.

A pretty simple, reliable and free place to upload pictures is Photobucket.com.

You can start an account there, upload your picture, and it will show you the 'direct link' url that you can copy and paste between the IMG tags TooCool was talking about right above. It also lets you create albums and such so you can keep pictures separated if you need it.

Here's an example of the 'direct link' and the accompanying picture:

Thank you both so much. I'll play around with it today. I've heard of photobucket before so I'll try to upload and then try the two ways to get a pic on here. Appreciate it!

If the picture is anywhere in the internet, right click it, go to 'Properties,' and copy the 'Address' (URL) you see. You can either type [IMG]...[/IMG] around the address yourself (like TC said) or just click the 'Insert Image' icon and paste the address in the window when you go to post something.

If it's your personal picture and it's not on the internet, go to photobucket.com like Darby said and they will give you an address/URL for the picture.

Like pretty much anything, don't over think it, it's easy. We'll be waiting for a "try-out" image from you, let's see it...

Crap. why didn't it work? I put a pic on photobucket and copied the link and then clicked on the insert pic and I got rid of the http because I already had it on my link but it doesn't work.

I put this in the inset pic - Rosie cutieface picture by TracyMorrissey - Photobucket

I hate to bug anyone, but can you see what I did wrong? thanks.

I think you used the full page url instead of just the pics url.

BTW there is a button right above the reply window w/ a sun rising that you can click and it will do all the work for you.
