MANCHESTER, NH – Right wing Oscar Moller’s two goals set the pace for the Manchester Monarchs as they recorded a 4-2 victory over the Springfield Falcons Wednesday evening at the Verizon Wireless Arena.
Manchester (41-21-2-6, 90 points) remains in first place in the Atlantic Division with 90 points. Springfield (30-33-2-3, 65 points) is ranked sixth in the Atlantic Division with 65 points.
“I just think we kind of shut it down and I feel badly for ‘Zats’ (Jeff Zatkoff),” said Monarchs Head Coach Mark Morris following the game. “He played a wonderful game for us. The penalty kill did a wonderful job and we got off the beaten path a little bit. It’s a good reminder that you have to play the full 60 minutes.”
“I thought it could have been a larger margin that it was with how thoroughly we played,” said Morris. “To let them come back in and make it a 4-2 game makes it sound like it was closer than it was. It was a pretty solid effort for about 55 minutes.”
