In two years a lot of the guys at Manchester right now will be in the NHL. Maybe not with the Kings, but in the NHL.

Muzzin, Hickey, Voynov, King, Lokti, Schenn, Jones and Clune will all make it. Teubert, Holloway and Elkins are still projects that have potential.

All in all, we can't help but be excited about the talent down there.

    1/13
    MCH 6 @ Charlotte 4 WIN

“A strong first period was exactly what we needed,” explained Monarchs Head Coach Mark Morris. “The message before the game was about being thorough and we played with conviction. We sputtered periodically allowing Charlotte to reenergize when we lost focus and got careless. It was a good road win but we need to tighten some parts of our game before the puck drops tomorrow night. There were lots of good things and we hope to correct the things which need attention.”

    1/14
    MCH 5 @ Charlotte 6 SO loss

“It was a hard earned point and a gutsy comeback,” explained Monarchs Head Coach Mark Morris following Friday night’s game. “Mental errors early on put us in a hole. We got better as the game progressed. We gave it all we had in the third with lots of strong plays.”

“Charlotte was better in the shootout. Things didn’t look good but we were able to gain some ground when things weren’t going our way. We showed some character by digging deep,” said Morris.
    Manchester Monarchs

    GOALS
    M. Cliche (10) O. Moller, A. Loktionov
    T. Hickey (6) D. King
    V. Voynov (9) A. Loktionov, O. Moller PP
    D. Kolomatis (5) J. Azevedo, D. King PP
    A. Loktionov (7) M. Cliche, O. Moller

MCH was down 4-1 after getting the first goal. Hickey scored, Charlotte scored. Then MCH had a three goal 3rd period to tie it up.
Elkins, Azevedo, and Moller did not score in the shootout.

Zatkoff stopped 39/44 but then only went 1/4 in the shootout

    1/15
    MCH 4 @ Binghamton 3 WIN

“This is an outstanding win for this group,” said Monarchs Head Coach Mark Morris. “We battled hard. Facing the odds that we were up against makes it even more special. It’s been a crazy trip and to end it on this win is extremely gratifying. Binghamton has a fast team and a lot of offensive power but good defensive play and excellent goaltending led us to wrap up a long road trip on a good note.”
    Manchester Monarchs

    MCH 2 @ Providence 5 loss
“Providence put the boots to us tonight; it was a dismal effort,” explained Monarchs Head Coach Mark Morris following Friday night's loss. “Our start was great but things unraveled quickly from that point forward. There were too many passengers tonight and I hope we bounce back quickly.”

“We’ll need to take a good honest look in the mirror because that wasn’t even close to the way we need to play to win in this league. We need everyone buying in so we can get back on track,” said Morris
    Manchester Monarchs

    Goals
    D. King (12) J. Azevedo, J. Muzzin PP
    B. Holloway (14) J. Azevedo PP

Jones stopped 25/30 and then Zatkoff came in for the last 8:03 and stopped 3/3

    Binhamton 4 @ MCH 2 loss

“Special teams were a deciding factor,” said Monarchs Head Coach Mark Morris. “We had chances on the power play and we were caught napping on the penalty kill. The game was chopped up with penalty minutes, so there wasn’t a lot of flow.”

“When you have that many shots on goal, you expect to win. Credit (goaltender) Barry Brust with a strong effort,” said Morris.
