Manchester will get right back to work on Tuesday night when it visits the Portland Pirates for a 7 p.m. game. Portland is 4-1-0 and will be coming in off a loss to Bridgeport on Sunday. The Pirates beat Manchester 6-5 in the season opener just over a week ago.

PORTLAND, ME – It took a nine-round shootout to determine the winner as the Portland Pirates narrowly edged the Manchester Monarchs, 3-2 in a shootout at the Cumberland County Civic Center on Tuesday night.

Manchester (2-2-0-1) is in fourth place in the Atlantic Division with five points. Portland (5-1-0-0) is in first place in the Atlantic Division with 10 points.

“It was a gutsy effort to fight our way back in the third period,” explained Monarchs Head Coach Mark Morris. “We had a miscue on the bench at the end of the second period that put us a man down and game life to Portland. We stayed in it to the bitter end.

“(Jeff) Zatkoff did everything he could to keep us in the game. Give both goalies credit for a real strong effort.”

The move is better for Jones anyway. Instead of being given the starting role, he can try to win it from Zatkoff

I noticed that Muzzin didn't dress on Sunday. Anyone know what the deal on that is?
