Notwithstanding the disallowed goals, cheap shots, and Idaho's flair for the dramatic (truly Oscar worthy at times), it's clear that (1) Ontario's defense and composure are both MIA, (2) their goaltending is iffy at best (Berube may well develop into an excellent netminder down the road, but at the moment, he's far too inconsistent to help this team win a championship), and (3) while the team's punches appear to have no trouble finding their mark, the same cannot be said of their shots of goal. On at least two occasions tonight I saw point-blank scoring opportunities sail harmlessly over the crossbar into the glass/protective netting beyond. They weren't even close! And talk about ill-advised PIMS . . . . Same story, different day. Simply put, Idaho is doing the things necessary to advance to the next round, and we aren't.
A lot of team records have been set by this year's squad, and for that they have reason to be proud. But if something doesn't change quickly, getting past the first round of the playoffs won't be one of them. We may be the Pacific Division champs and #2 seed in the Western Conference, but that hasn't phased the Steelheads, who continue to serve up a heapin' helpin' of humble pie.
Start Carrozzi in goal tomorrow night, and with Easter coming up this Sunday, what better time for coach Christie to have a little "come to Jesus meetin'" with the boys. Elmira staved off elimination earlier this evening; let's hope we can do the same tomorrow in Game #4.
Let's go, Reign!
Man, can Kuhn not play anymore against the Reign please?
Go Kings

He hasn't been beaten by a shot yet, all rebounds and close around the net tap-ins.
The question now is, does Christie stick with Carrozzi for game 5? And will anyone actually show up to the Bank on Monday night?
I say we stick with Carrozzi for Game #5. He got a little careless handling the puck at times last night, and Idaho's second goal seemed a bit soft, IMO, but he also saved our bacon just a minute before on an Idaho breakway. Overall, I think he deserves the nod over Berube.
I, too, have been wondering where all the Reign fans have gone. 3,205 last night, and 3,519 the night before--for a playoff game? Maybe it's due to the Easter weekend, or perhaps the start of the baseball season. Whatever the cause, it's been an embarrassment for a team that's led the league in attendance the past three years. If people were thinking we'd just walk over Idaho on our way to the conference semis, then they were sadly mistaken. Kuhn has been outstanding between the pipes, and their defense has done an excellent job of clogging up the passing/shooting lanes in front of him. In short, whether we win or lose tomorrow night, the Steelheads have earned our respect. It should be quite a game.
Let's go, Reign!
It harder to sell tix when you dont months to put the groups together. With Renewals and paying for Playoffs as well as a Kings game or 3 it gets pricey.
Carrozzi will be in net, Kraemer will be out for a while, We WILL be playing in Vegas next week. I will be there Monday and every other home game as well as planning a trip to Vegas for the next round
Sudden Death tonight! Monday! Monday! Monday!
Go Kings

Going to first ever Reign game tonight, can't believe I have not been yet, I like 20 minutes away.
