Thread: Will there be any Kings prospects in Ontario this season?

Well last season we didn't see any Kings prospects in Ontario, last season we saw how bad the Reign were without any Kings prospects. Last season I did a group night for the Reign the office staff all seemed bitter towards the Kings for sending all the prospects to Manchester.

Despite what the ECHL wants you to believe, the league is not fertile ground for developing NHL players. They talk about 400-some ECHL players who have played in the NHL. But that total is since the late 70s, and of that number, very few played a significant number of games in the NHL. Exceptions seem to be goalies, as they benefit from the time spent in the ECHL, then AHL. Example Jon Quick, yet Bernier never spent a millisecond on an ECHL roster. Also some Euro players who weren't drafted and slipped under the radar (Ruslan Fedotenko). Some of the big "success stories" like Rich Peverly and Dave Steckel actually played only a few games in the ECHL.

Your location 3000 miles from your AHL affiliate doesn't help either.

Problem is that J-F is one of four goalies the Reign has. Wonder how that will shake itself out.

Not an issue. They'll trade them for basically nothing like last season. It'll probably be Erickson as backup.
